The Summit’s Legal Challenge is the annual moot court focused exclusively on the matters of the international games industry: we accelerate the integration of young legal talent into our professional community, connecting the competitors with mentors and judges who bring decades of industry experience.

This season, the competition runs for the 9th time. This season’s case, “An Offer (Not) Made, An Offer (Not) Refused”, is dedicated to the right of first offer in a publishing agreement. Each team is expected to submit 2 written memoranda. The 4 leading teams will then face each other in the semifinals at the oral pleadings. The 2 teams that win the semifinals, will progressing to the final oral hearing.

Thanks to the Summit’s partner law firms, each member of the 4 teams that qualify to the semifinals will receive complimentary tickets to attend Games Industry Law Summit XI in Berlin (June 2026). In addition to the prizes awarded to the semifinalist teams, this moot court issues three additional awards: Best Memorandum for Claimant (team); Best Memorandum for Defendant (team); and Best Oralist (individual).
