Several dozen attendees arrive to Porto over the weekend, and by lunch time on Monday we’ll have over 60 attendees in town. Use this opportunity to meet new people and to catch up with old friends! A cozy lunch, or a quiet conversation on the rooftop before the conference, often give you more insights than a meeting during the event.

We have agreed with Timbre Virtudes, a 5-star hotel within 400 meters of Alfândega where quite a lot of you guys are staying, to designate their rooftop bar – Amura – as the pre-/after-hours meeting place of the Summit. We’ve been there several times: the prices are fair, the service is great, and you can see our venue from the terrace. The bar also has an amazing cocktail menu. Yes, following the Vilnius tradition, we once again find ourselves next to a bar that cooks interesting things – and at least 1/3 of their cocktails have 0% versions.

If you have any special requests, please talk to Timbre’s F&B energetic boss, Ana Reis, who will be on-site. Amura ends service at 24:00 sharp, as otherwise the noise might disturb the guests – but Ana has created a curated list of recommended spots for “after midnight”, which she is happy to provide on request, if you explain what you’re after.

These rooftop gatherings are not a part of the official program, and are not covered by our budget. Having said that, the prices in Porto are very fair, including here at Amura.

The long story short for Monday afternoon: if you come to Timbre Virtudes and take the elevator to their rooftop bar Amura, you are very likely to find a group of games industry lawyers there.

The elevator is to the right side of the entrance: come in, tell the reception that you’re here for Amura, that you’re from the Summit, and that video games are proven to improve cognitive abilities and coordination – then demonstrate this by proceeding to the elevator on the right side of the reception without even having to ask for directions.

A relaxed community run for those who are already in town. This run starts and ends at the NEYA Hotel. The plan is to reach the ocean at the Matosinhos Beach, and have a coffee there, around the Mercado. If you wish, you can go back by metro (Line A, blue; get out anywhere between Casa da Música and Trindade and walk downhill back to NEYA).

NB: under the security protocol, you will need your badge at all times to access the venue on October 6-8; and you will need your Garden Dinner ticket to access the dinner area on October 7.

Once you pick up your badge, catch up with old friends and welcome new community members. We encourage you to arrive early to take advantage of the social space.

Buffet-style dinner, based on the regional cuisine of Northern Portugal, with wines and draft beers, as well as a full range of non-alcoholic options.

22:00 – the gates close; whoever has not left the Quay, will have to stay with us and help us clean up and prepare for the next day.

Amura rooftop bar at Timbre Virtudes (less than 400 meters away) is open until 24:00. Ask their team for the curated list of recommended places if you want to stay up after midnight.
