Any person desiring to practice his/her games legal skills may take part in WG Legal Challenge.
WG Legal Challenge gives you a unique chance to apply your knowledge in games law as well as to meet in person key legal and business professionals from high profile game companies. Four teams that make it into the finals will be invited to attend the 4th annual Games Industry Law Summit, which takes place on May 3-4, 2018 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Summit’s registration fee (€500 per person) covering 3 dinners, 2 lunches and coffee breaks, and conference materials will be covered by the organizers, for up to 3 attendees per team to the value of up to €1,500 per team, for a total of up to €6,000 for all the teams in total.
In 2018, WG Legal Challenge is organized as a moot court. Teams of 1 to 3 persons are invited to join the challenge.
We appreciate individual contribution of each participant, that is why we encourage you to form and administer teams on your own. At the same time, if you would like to have someone mentoring you through the challenge, such a person will be invited to Games Industry Law Summit 2018 and will be included into the team headcount, but will not be permitted to plead.
The team willing to take part in WG Legal Challenge 2018 should fill in the registration form (available through the link below on this page), and should pay the registration fee of EUR 50 (you will receive a PayPal invoice to your email, which you can pay via PayPal or by any of the major credit cards). The registration deadline is February 15, 2018.
Upon submitting the registration form, you will receive a PayPal invoice to the e-mail address that you indicated in the form. The invoice shall be fully paid within one (1) week after the receipt. If you have any questions about the registration or payment process, please contact Alma (email@example.com).
In the first part of the challenge, the teams are expected to submit a memorandum for claimant and a memorandum for respondent; in the second part, four teams that receive the highest score for the first part will take part in oral pleadings (the pleadings start at 10:00 on May 2, 2018 in Vilnius, Lithuania).
WG Legal Challenge 2018 case is dedicated to the problem of game cloning and related legal issues.
